Teachers and Guns

Pakistan Khyber Pakhtunkhwa mapSchool shootings have been a problem for a very long time now; and now teachers are taking a stand. In Pakistan, Abdul Saeed a teacher for 15 years now brings a gun to school after the recent event at the Army Public School in December. He states that students "would look at the door every time they heard a sound. Now they see me wearing a gun, they need not to worry". Some would argue about how this could be promoting violence and showing kids this is the way of life, but in reality it is. Pakistan is going through tough times and there are some things that are very hard to prevent, including school shootings. It is so easy just to walk into your own school and shoot it up. It is sad but true. In Pakistan they are having an extremely rough time with Afghanistan and Israel which is not helping the situations in either country. The government agreed to pay $69 million to increase security at the schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhua, which is in the northwestern part of Pakistan.
So the main question then becomes, is it okay to carry a gun at school to protect the students?

According to Abdul Saeed; "We were once warriors of chalk and the blackboard. Now we must be soldiers at war and fight for the cause of education and a brighter future for our children."
