Two years ago, there was fatal attacks in a Kenyan Mall, in Nairobi. This attack led to the death of 60 people and they were killed by, Al-Shabaab militants. They held the shoppers for 4 days before they let them go.
A terror group has recently sent threats towards the United States and other countries, saying that there will be incidents like that here. Due to these threats, the FBI and SWAT teams have been increasing security in malls, and producing fake incidents when the mall is closed.
There is no immediate threat towards any mall, but shoppers should still be cautious.
I am happy that the FBI and SWAT teams are taking this seriously and trying to not let another attack on US soil happen. It is so sad that these types of things are threats in this day and age. I wish this didn't have to happen, because it is horrible people result to violence.
Al-Shabaab is mostly restricted to East Africa, they have kept up attacks in Somalia most recently. There are so many terrorists groups it is so sad and bothers me so much that people can not get along and have such different views.
